How long will it take to receive my order?

• Orders are usually shipped within 3 to 5 business days from receipt of payment.

• Priority mail takes 2-3 days depending on how far you are from Ohio!

• Orders paid for after 2:00 pm Eastern time are posted the following business day.

• Business days are Monday through Thursday!

US Shipping Options
 

So many of our customers have asked us to continue offering the Flat Rate shipping options. 
For those of you new to flat rate shipping--there are lots of "no-no's" especially for the Flat Rate Envelopes . . so please read all the information below!

If you do not want to deal with all of the issues involving flat rate--please simply choose the "USPS standard shipping option" when you check out.  This option determines postage by directly communicating with the USPS website.

The Two USPS Priority Flat Rate Options
 

1. Priority Flat Rate Envelope for Orders Under $41.00 only!!!

Wrapped and labeled items are placed in a USPS Priority Flat Rate Envelope.  This is a flat envelope made of cardstock weight cardboard.**    The rate for any weight to anywhere in the US is $5.55 (which includes a 75 cent handling fee).

IMPORTANT: Please note the following: 

• **Due to the size and nature of the USPS Flat Rate envelope, we cannot wrap soaps for maximum protection and cannot guarantee that the bars will not get dinged during shipment.  Also, the flat rate envelope is a thin piece of cardboard and, if handled roughly in transit, can tear.  The rules of the USPS regarding flat rate envelopes, do not allow us to reinforce the envelope in any way.  We have shipped hundreds of orders across the country and most of our international orders using this type of envelope and we have had very few problems.  It is a great way to save money on shipping but please understand that if a package is damaged we cannot be responsible for missing or damaged items. These envelopes cannot be insured.
   
• If you choose the flat rate envelope for orders above $41.00--our shopping cart does not know what to do and will add only the 75 cent handling charge.  We then have to email you for the shipping.  The extra payment you have to make then costs us an additional 75 cents in transaction fees which we must tack on to your postage payment.   We have been having problems with people not checking e-mail messages--so if we do not hear from you within 24 hours, we will refund your total order.
   
• There are items that simply will not fit into a flat cardboard envelope.  This shipping option is a FLAT CARDBOARD ENVELOPE!  If an item will not fit in the Flat Rate Envelope, there is a note next to or near the item.  The rules of the USPS regarding flat rate envelopes, do not allow us to change its shape to accommodate large items--they will return the shipment if we try!    If you choose the flat rate envelope for items  that will not fit, we then have to email you for the extra shipping.  The extra payment you have to make then costs us an additional 75 cents in transaction fees which we must tack on to your postage payment.   We have been having problems with people not checking e-mail messages--so if we do not hear from you within 24 hours, we will ship your order, minus the items that will not fit, in the flat rate envelope and then refund any items not shipped.  For list of items that will not fit in the Flat Rate Envelopes--click here!
   
• Insurance is not available for Flat Rate Envelope Shipping. If you would like your order insured, please order using the USPS Standard Option #2 or #3 below!
   
• The Flat Rate shipping options (envelope or box)  CANNOT be used for Soap Gift items or Howard's Woodshop items.

2. Priority Flat Rate BOX For Orders under $110.00 (The Flat Rate Box will be an option when you choose any of the Standard USPS Priority Mail Shipping Options (see below) in the "CHOOSE Shipping Method Menu" drop down menu.)

Wrapped and labeled items are placed in a USPS Priority Flat Rate Box. The rate for any weight to anywhere in the US is $10.55 (which includes a 75 cent handling fee).  The box is only 8 inches x 5 inches x 11 inches and only holds a certain amount of merchandise.

• If you choose the Flat Rate Box for orders larger than $110.00, we will try to squeeze your items into the box, but cannot guarantee their condition on arrival, since there may not be room for protective packaging. 
• The Flat Rate shipping options (envelope or box)  CANNOT be used for Soap Gift items or Howard's Woodshop items.

****For small e-mail orders--We will assume that you want the
FLAT RATE ENVELOPE OPTION
 without insurance unless you tell us otherwise.

USPS Standard Priority Shipping Options

You can choose one of the shipping options below in the drop down menu of the check-out page
under "CHOOSE Shipping Method Menu"

The Flat Rate Box option (for orders under $110.00) may be used under any of the options below . . .
Once you hit "submit" at the bottom of the check-out page you are automatically redirected
to the USPS shipping options page.  The Flat Rate box price will include the 75 cent handling fee plus
the cost of insurance--if you choose an insurance option.

1.  Standard US Priority Mail

• The postage is actually calculated by the USPS based on the weight of the package
  and the zone distance from our zipcode 44022.  A 75 cent handling fee is added.

• This option does NOT include insurance. 

2. Priority Mail with up to $50.00 Insurance

• The postage is actually calculated by the USPS based on the weight of the package
  and the zone distance from our zipcode 44022.  A 75 cent handling fee is added.

• An $1.70 fee is added to cover USPS insurance of up to $50.00
  (The order is insured for the actual cost plus postage up to $50.00)

3. Priority Mail with up to $100.00 Insurance

• The postage is actually calculated by the USPS based on the weight of the package
  and the zone distance from our zipcode 44022.  A 75 cent handling fee is added.

• A $2.15 fee is added to cover USPS insurance of up to $100.00
  (The order is insured for the actual cost plus postage up to $100.00)

If you are placing a large order and would like additional insurance
beyond the $100.00 available, please order via e-mail.
The USPS insurance rates are provided below.

SHIPPING NOTIFICATION

Orders paid for via PayPal or Check/Money order will receive an e-mail from the USPS or PayPal to let you know that your orders have been processed for shipping. 

Our Credit Card payments are also processed via PayPal and we print our shipping labels directly from the PayPal site.  Unfortunately, since there is no e-mail address associated with Credit Card payments, Credit Card customers do not receive shipping notices.  We are hopeful that PayPal will resolve this problem.

US PACKAGE INSURANCE

Although lost or damaged shipments are extremely rare, if you do not request insurance, we will not be held responsible for damaged or lost orders.

We also recycle the packaging materials we receive and use shredded paper whenever possible.

Items That Will NOT Fit in the Flat Rate Envelopes
 

• Bath Melts (only the trial size will fit)
• 4 oz Whipped Shea or Cocoa Butters
• Nylon Soap Sponge
• Gift Items CANNOT be shipped in ANY flat rate option!
• Howard's Woodcrafts

A quality bar handmade soap will often "sweat" in humid weather due to the high content of natural humectants.
