When I first made our whole loofah square soap our customers told us there was too much soap and not enough loofah. Then we made our whole loofah round bars and our customers said, too much loofah and not enough soap.  So our new bars are made with ground loofah and even more adzuki bean powder!

 Just as you said the loofah in the soap stays pretty soft and I just gently rub in little circles.  When the bar gets too small and there is too little soap left it gets more scratchy, so then I use it on my rough heels and start a new bar for my face.  I do this exfoliating routine once or twice a week and the bar lasts forever.  The skin on my face has never looked better.  I don’t even need makeup and my mom says my face has a lovely glow.  You go girl!!   Janet,  Indiana

I need to tell you something incredible about the neem/tea tree bar. I have used prescription topical medication and received steroid shots in my face for acne vulgaris (cystic acne), since the age of 20 and I'm 47 now. It took them until 1999 to find a topical that actually worked. I went thru them all! The topicals are very expensive, one of them alone without insurance is over $200.00. I lost my medical insurance because I had to resign from my job due to illness and so I can't afford the medicine anymore. I decided to try the neem/tea tree soap as soon as I ran out of the medicine, and I am pleased to announce that it worked better than any prescription medication ever did. We’ve taken our pure Castile soap and added 40% unrefined Shea Butter to create this buttery rich, mild, and moisturizing soap. Olive oil has been treasured for centuries for its ability to nourish the skin as it penetrates deeply to hold in moisture without clogging pores.  Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, Olive oil helps your skin regulate its natural moisturizing systems while allowing the skin to breathe.  Natural Shea Butter is a great emollient.  High in Vitamins A and E, it penetrates deep into your skin, to moisturize, nourish, and promote elasticity.  It is excellent for dry, damaged, and maturing skin.  We added finely ground lavender flower buds and a bit of castor bean oil to add even more moisturizing and a bit of lathering.  The lather will still be silky, with fine, lotion-like creamy bubbles.

We do not skimp on the Seabuckthorn oil.  Its deep color, due to loads of beta-carortene, can cause staining on light colored washcloths.  After laundering, all of the stain came out of our cloths, but we just want to let you know!

We received many e-mails and phone calls over the past year from customers with rosacea, severe acne and other skin problems asking for a soap made with seabuckthorn oil.  I was a bit hesitant at first knowing that a soap containing seabuckthorn can not have the same effect as a concentrated potion like our Seabuckthorn Salve.  However, after talking with a number of people, we realized that they were not looking to the soap for a cure.  They wanted a moisturizing soap that would allow them to enjoy a bath or shower hopefully without triggering a flare up or exacerbating an already existing problem.  So the research began.  
 

Seabuckthorn oil is very expensive!  But if we do not use a good amount, then what is the point of a seabuckthorn oil soap.  So our recipe contains the highest percentage of Seabuckthorn oil that could be used without compromising the chemistry of soapmaking in our formulas.

Loaded with over 35% unrefined shea butter, enriched with mango butter, rose petal oil, rose hips, rose petals, rose water, French pink clay, aloe, and organic coconut milk, Shea Rose Clay is an outstanding facial and body bar. Rose hips, packed full of Vitamin C and bioflavonoids, have been used by South Americans for generations to treat dry skin, help reduce signs of premature aging.  Mild French pink clay, beneficial for dry and sensitive skin, gently cleans, exfoliates, and eliminates clogged pores, while improving circulation.  Coconut milk has been used in Ayurvedic medicine in India for thousands of years.  It is widely used in spas in India to soothe and nourish the skin.  The blend of essential oils provides a lovely light floral scent as well as skin nourishing properties.  Soothing geranium creates balance between oily and dry skin.  Palmarosa and Ylang Ylang, gentle oils used in skin care products for acne, dry sensitive or inflamed skin, and dermatitis, are believed to help dull, mature skin.
